Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before booking any travel experience with Runaway Monk. By making a booking, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please refrain from using our services.

1. About Us

Runaway Monk Travel Experiences Pvt. Ltd. (referred to as “Runaway Monk”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) is a boutique travel company offering curated travel experiences across India and beyond. We operate as a travel arranger and, in certain cases, as a tour operator.

2. Bookings and Confirmation

2.1 Making a Booking

All bookings are subject to availability and confirmation by Runaway Monk. A booking is considered confirmed only upon receipt of a written confirmation email from us and receipt of the required deposit or full payment.

2.2 Booking Accuracy

You are responsible for ensuring that all details provided at the time of booking — including names, travel dates, passport details, and contact information — are accurate. Runaway Monk shall not be held liable for any loss or inconvenience resulting from incorrect information provided by the traveller.

2.3 Age and Eligibility

All travellers must be at least 18 years of age to book independently. Minors must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, and additional documentation may be required.

3. Pricing and Payment

3.1 Pricing

All prices quoted are in Indian Rupees (INR) unless otherwise stated. Prices are subject to change until a booking is confirmed. Quoted prices include only those elements explicitly listed in the itinerary.

3.2 Payment Schedule

A non-refundable deposit (as specified at the time of booking, typically 25–50% of the total) is required to secure your reservation. The remaining balance must be paid no later than 30 days prior to departure, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

3.3 Additional Costs

Unless explicitly stated, prices do not include:

• International or domestic airfare
• Visa fees and travel insurance
• Personal expenses, tips, and gratuities
• Activities not listed in the confirmed itinerary
• Applicable GST and other taxes (charged separately as per government regulations)

4. Cancellations and Refunds

4.1 Cancellation by the Traveller

Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing to hello@runawaymonk.com. The following cancellation charges apply from the date we receive your written notice:

• More than 60 days before departure: Loss of deposit only
• 30–60 days before departure: 50% of total booking cost
• 15–29 days before departure: 75% of total booking cost
• Less than 15 days before departure: 100% of total booking cost (no refund)

All cancellation charges are subject to applicable GST.

4.2 Cancellation by Runaway Monk

We reserve the right to cancel any booking due to insufficient bookings, force majeure events, or circumstances beyond our control. In such cases, we will offer a full refund or an alternative experience of equal value. We shall not be liable for any additional costs incurred by the traveller as a result of such cancellation.

4.3 Non-Refundable Components

Certain components such as flight tickets, visa fees, special event passes, and third-party bookings may be non-refundable regardless of cancellation timeline. These will be communicated at the time of booking.

5. Amendments and Changes

5.1 Changes by the Traveller

Requests to amend a confirmed booking (change of dates, destinations, or participants) must be made in writing and are subject to availability and an amendment fee. Runaway Monk will endeavour to accommodate reasonable requests but cannot guarantee all changes.

5.2 Changes by Runaway Monk

We reserve the right to make minor changes to itineraries due to operational, logistical, or safety reasons. In the event of a significant change (change of destination, accommodation category, or major activity), we will notify you promptly and offer alternatives or a refund as appropriate.

6. Travel Documentation

It is the traveller’s sole responsibility to ensure they possess valid travel documents, including:

• A valid passport with at least 6 months’ validity beyond the return date
• All required visas, permits, and entry documents–       Proof of vaccination or health documentation where required
  

  Runaway Monk shall not be held responsible for any traveller who is denied entry or boarding due to insufficient or invalid documentation.

  7. Travel Insurance

  We strongly recommend that all travellers obtain comprehensive travel insurance prior to departure. This should cover trip cancellation, medical emergencies, evacuation, loss of baggage, and personal liability. Runaway Monk is not responsible for any losses that would have been covered under adequate travel insurance.

  8. Health, Safety, and Conduct

  8.1 Fitness and Medical Conditions

  Travellers are responsible for assessing their own fitness and health for the activities booked. You must disclose any relevant medical conditions at the time of booking. Runaway Monk reserves the right to refuse participation in any activity for safety reasons.

  8.2 Code of Conduct

  All travellers are expected to conduct themselves respectfully towards fellow travellers, staff, local communities, wildlife, and the natural environment. Runaway Monk reserves the right to remove any traveller from a tour without refund for behaviour that is deemed disruptive, offensive, or dangerous.

  9. Liability and Limitation

  9.1 Third-Party Services

  Runaway Monk acts as an arranger for third-party services including accommodation, transport, and activities. We are not liable for the acts, omissions, negligence, or defaults of any third-party service provider.

  9.2 Force Majeure

  Runaway Monk shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performance resulting from events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, acts of war, civil unrest, pandemics, government actions, or strikes.

  9.3 Limitation of Liability

  To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our total liability to any traveller shall not exceed the total amount paid by that traveller for the specific booking in question.

  10. Intellectual Property

  All content on the Runaway Monk website and marketing materials — including text, images, logos, and itineraries — is the intellectual property of Runaway Monk and may not be reproduced, distributed, or used without our prior written consent.

  11. Privacy

  Your use of our services is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand our practices.

• 12. Governing Law and Disputes

  These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising from or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Pune, Maharashtra, India. We encourage travellers to first contact us directly to resolve any concerns amicably.

  13. Severability

  If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

  14. Entire Agreement

  These Terms, together with the booking confirmation and Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between the traveller and Runaway Monk with respect to the services booked, superseding all prior representations, discussions, and agreements.
